The quality control process (QC) ensures that the goods sold to consumers are of high quality and reliable. All goods must go through this process when they are created or updated.
1. Quality Control Process (QC Process)

2. Restriction Rules and Review Rules
2.1 Restriction Rules
Restriction rules are a series of verification rules that commodities must pass during creation/update operations for the operations to be successful.
If the verification fails, you can export an error report in the import history to check the specific rules that were not passed.
Examples of restriction rules: blacklist keywords, categories or brands prohibited from being sold in specific countries.

2.1 Review Rules
After a product passes the restriction rule verification, it can be created/updated. The review rules will determine the quality control (QC) status of the product.
For example: Some categories do not need to go through the quality inspection process.
- Auto-approval: Products that meet specific rules will be directly approved.
- Auto-rejection: Products that meet another type of rule will be directly rejected.
- Pending QC: If a product meets neither the auto-approval nor the auto-rejection rules, its status will be set to Pending QC. Products in this status need to be manually approved or rejected by the Jumia quality inspection team.
You can check the product status under “Product Management” by clicking the “Visible” or “Active” icon in the row of the product you want to view.

Then click “QC Status”.
