Promotion Backend introduction

1. How to participate in the event?

1.1 Enter the Promotion function page and click “view all” to see all available events.

1.2 Click “Join Promotion”

1.3 You can use filters to reduce the number of results in the list. For example, filtering for “open” and “eligible” will show promotional activities that are currently open and available for participation.

1.4 There are two ways to submit the prices for promotional activities: direct submission on the page and submission via form upload.

Method 1: Edit directly on the Promotion activity page. Edit the price and inventory according to the rules and requirements of the activity.

  • The page only displays qualified products that meet the promotional activity criteria.
  • Products displayed in gray indicate that they have no inventory or incorrect prices. You can add inventory or relevant information on the product management page, and the system will re-identify them.
  • If there are optional time periods for the promotion, sellers can choose a time period according to actual needs, which is not mandatory.

  • Current Price:The current selling price of the product
  • Promo Price:Promotional price (this value must comply with the rules and standards of the promotional activity)
    • Must be greater than 0
    • Must be less than the Current Price
    • Must not be empty
    • Must be filled in strictly in accordance with the activity rules (for example, the inventory must not be less than X units, the discount must not be less than X%, etc.)

If the activity has pre-set discount standards, the system will automatically calculate the promotional price based on the discount type, and sellers can edit it according to their actual needs on this basis.

  • Promo Stock: The system displays the current stock of the product by default, and sellers can edit and adjust it according to actual needs.
    • Must not be empty.
    • Must be greater than 0.
    • If the promotion type is a flash sale event, the stock must be ≥ 15.
    • If the promotional stock is greater than the current stock of the product, the system will display “You should increase your current stock of XX”. Sellers can submit after modifying the current stock of the product.

  • Select a promotion time slot for the product

This is not a required field.

    • If there are multiple available time slots for the promotion, you can select the one you want for the product.
    • If only one time slot is available, you will see that the “Date Slot” column has a default value set and is not editable.

  • If there are multiple products/variants in the same product combination that meet the promotion criteria:
    • When selecting a time period for one variant, the same time period will be assigned to all variants in that product group.
    • If you attempt to change the time period of one variant, you will see a message warning that the variant will be added to a different time period. This means the product will be displayed as a promotional item at different times.
  • After adding the promotional price and inventory, the product will be automatically selected and added to the application list.
    • Check or uncheck the application by clicking the small box in front of the product image.
    • You can only fill in the input content and click the submit button if you have the permission to manage Promotions.

  • Submit the application

The review time is generally real-time feedback, and sellers can see the review result within 2-3 minutes.

    • You will be redirected to the “Submitted Products” page, where you can see all products subscribed to this promotion.
    • You can check the country where the product is submitted in the “Country” column.
    • You can exit the event by clicking the button under Actions.

♦ Status of the Product subscription:

    • Pending: Product under review
    • Approved: Approved
    • Rejected: Rejected. You can click “See Why” under “Status” to view the specific reasons for rejection and revise accordingly.
    • Unsubscribed: The product has been unsubscribed by Jumia. You can learn more about product unsubscription through RAC.

Method 2: Submit promotional products by importing a spreadsheet. Click the “Import/Export” button

  • Click“Export Eligible products” to export the file. The file specifically includes the following contents: Product Sid / Product Name / Seller Sku / Product Price / Promo Price / Promo Stock / Promo Slots

  • Add promotional prices and inventory for products that are to be ordered for promotion.

Save the completed file and place it in the designated area “Drop your file here” for import.

  • In the history record, you can perform a series of operations such as checking the progress of imported files and “Download error report“.

If your promotion activity submission is successful, you can see the added products and the “Approved” prompt on the product submission page.
