Since 2025, Jumia Global has completed its strategic adjustment and officially transitioned to an overseas warehouse (FBJ) model. For Chinese cross-border sellers looking to expand into the African market, the only and most efficient way to join Jumia is currently to open an overseas warehouse store.

Whether you are a seasoned player with a direct shipping account or a newcomer to African e-commerce, this guide will provide clear direction.

💡 New Onboarding Policies Overview

Before starting, please understand the current platform landscape:

1. Open Sites (7 in total)

  • Direct Operation (6 sites): Upon successful onboarding, you can directly open stores in Nigeria (NG), Kenya (KE), Ghana (GH), Uganda (UG), Ivory Coast (CI), and Senegal (SN).
  • Special onboarding requirements (Site 1): The Egypt (EG) site adopts a localized and compliant store opening model. All sellers (including new sellers and original international sellers) must submit a separate application for a local store.

Seller Entry Requirements

  • Old Drop Shipping Sellers: Business licenses previously used to open direct shipping accounts remain valid! You can re-register your overseas warehouse store using your existing business license; there are no additional requirements.
  • New Sellers: Prepare a valid business license and follow the instructions below.

Step 1: Access the Official Website

Note: Sellers joining the Egyptian site (including those who have already opened accounts on non-Egyptian international sites) need to prepare separate applications for Egyptian company qualifications. If a seller does not currently have an Egyptian company, they can contact the platform’s partner service providers to assist them in obtaining Egyptian company qualifications and compliant bank payment accounts for opening their stores.

Fill in the necessary information on the official website. Please ensure that the mobile phone number and email address you enter are accurate and valid, as this is crucial for receiving review results and account activation information.

Before submitting your application, please check that you have prepared the following documents:

(Non-Egypt) International Sites

  • Business License (Supports re-registration of licenses linked to old direct mail accounts).
  • Front and back photos of the legal representative’s ID card
  • Valid email address (Recommended to use a frequently used business email address).

Egypt Site

  • Commercial Registration Certificate
  • Tax Card
  • VAT Registration Certificate (If the tax threshold has been reached, proof of tax payment is also required)
  • Egyptian Citizen Documents: Copy of local ID card or passport
  • Bank Account Opening Letter: Proof of a local bank account corresponding to the company
  • Valid email address (A frequently used email address not used for JUMIA registration)
